A question i ponder in today's society. There's always been this idea you have to date someone for a decade, throw them through fire, etc before you can officially marry them. Or you need to wait it out to see what happens, in a weird quest of time vs the relationship. Whilst I can understand using some time to date and be in a relationship to test them out as a partner, the marriage part has always been confusing to me. I've never attributed any time schedule to a relationship before, but a lot of people look at you funny if you say you were married after 9 months of dating. What makes this an interesting phenomena, is that for the majority of the world's existence, most people were together for a few months before getting married.

This is yet another attack on white people getting married and having kids by forcing artificial constraints and arbitrary guidelines on what is the (((new))) normal. Who is to say that a relationship has to meet certain guidelines except for no other reason but to sow confusion between the sexes?

Thus the difference between courting and dating. Dating has longer periods because basically only two inexperienced people are choosing. Two people who generally know nothing of life, doublely so for women, are feeling things out. To compensate, longer durations became the norm, which also became an excuse to fuck and justify moral decline.

Courtship is the traditional alternative. This is really about allowing the family to learn about the prospect while supervised dating (honoring women and their virginity). Courtships can be months to years, depending on the courter. If the courter is young and financially unprepared, a longer duration exists so he can get everything ready to take on a wife. This in turn keeps the door open for better prospects. If he's older, stable, an open book, and passes the family's smell test, courtship can be months. This is why marriage of 16 year olds to late twenty or so wasn't uncommon. This is the purpose of a father's blessing.

A father giving blessing without a courtship is simply ritualistic rubber stamping. Father's are only expected to pay when he gives his blessing (which is generally family consensus) with a courtship.
