This last date was a complete disaster for a few reasons. The first is my ongoing battle with negativity, but the second problem is my brain no longer comprehends women. Multiple times this woman got really mad or at least upset at me over mulitple reasons:

  • I told her this would be our last date as a joke. She didn't take it well at all, and was very upset, until i re iterated it was a joke.

  • She told me she doesn't like PDA around friends and family. I decided not to pursue any PDA at all, including the basics like hand holding, etc. I instead got scolded at for being too indecisive.

  • She wanted me to kiss her at the end of the night, and I decided not to. Not because i didn't want to, but based off the above point of no PDA around friends and family.

She's been somewhat distance since then, so i fully expect she's gonna break up with me tomorrow.

She went to visit her sister for a week. Called me 2 weeks later and told me she wasn't coming back, she was staying there with her new boyfriend. She called me 6 months later all weepy and asked if I was 'happy', I just laughed and hung up. We had married young and when she left she told me I was boring.

I thought my life was anything but boring. 7.5 years a Marine. My first job afterwards was at a satellite tracking station on a little island paradise where we met, she was from New Zealand. Moved to southern CA for a couple years, she was homesick and I was able to get a transfer with the company to NZ. Got into sailing and ended up building a 45 ft sailboat in our backyard. Sailed the east coast of NZ for awhile, then sailed to Australia and spent a year sailing up the Great Barrier Reef. And that's when we split, because I was 'boring'.

not hating or anything. Just honestly I would find sailing and watching a guy build a boat boring as fuck. You built the boat and she likely wanted to do tons of shit she never said anything about. Your moving on water slow nothing to do and stuck till you dock, that is trapped and super boring to me.

You have to put yourself in her shoes a bit more, no matter what she says you missed a bunch of likely signals "hints, I hate fucking hints, always to vague". Sorry but I think this one is on you, to long a plan with sailing as the theme, almost OCD it would seem if your with the person.

I used to lift weights all the time so I was in good shape to attract women, well I quickly realized that talking about weight lifting killed the date, sticking to much to any topic of a mans choosing will kill the date. Our romantic sailing plan should have been altered at her first, who cares or yawn that escaped her lips.

You were too nice, she wanted you to argue and talk back. Passionate displays enforcing your world view, so she could use her woman powers of offering you some warm holes, and change your mind.
