It's been a nightmare to maintain the thing. First the clutch went out at low miles, now the fuel regulator is busted. Not only that, most cars these days are made terrible, there's plastic everywhere, it rides horribly, and unless you want to spend a fortune, most people have to deal with it.

Clutch could be destroyed by a bad driver pretty easy, towing, overheating it severely once.

Never had one go on me before, so it was surprising

I haven’t either, but I’ve seen many. Bad habits or abuse almost every time. Fuel issues are usually related to the crappy fuel, the introduction of ethanol’s was bad, and California got mtbe which caused many a car -B- Que

I tend to daisy my clutch and drive my car specifically slower than i should on the revs, that's how i was always taught. I originally learned from older diesel cars and kept the habits of diesel driving to gasoline manuals. So im pretty sure the prior owner (((sold))) it knowing he messed up
