I totally understand.
PM me your phone number and we can talk about it.

I am one of those assholes.
Someone tells me not to do something and I have to do it to prove them one way or another. Maybe to prove it to myself? I don't know - I am heavily German and have been told its stubborn blood.
I just block numbers that abuse phone privileges.
In fairness, I don't do that for phone requests. I have a few buddies that never answer, so I never call - I respect that sort of thing.
I honesty wish we never invented smartphones or even phones in general. Imagine how peaceful life was when people could only reach you by letter?
Keep your eye out for a camel, that's from me.
Imma gon slaughter that thing and stick it in the freezer.
What you do with it after you get my useless message is your prerogative, I hope it's tasty.
I can only be messaged by carrier pigeon
No one truly understands you.
Well over half the population suffers from narcissistic personality disorder. These type of people don't really listen to others when they speak. They simply respond to their surroundings. They are also busy thinking about themselves.
I think they're just fucking idiots.
I wish that was true. Idiots can learn from their mistakes. Narcissists can't learn logic.
Well, it doesn't matter. I didn't listen to a word they said.
Oh man. For fuck sake. I have had the same number for so long its in every directory on the planet. I tell people that I know and work with that unless I have programmed your number into my phone I will never pick up a call. Even then, I only pick up calls from people I Want to be able to call me.
Some jackass gave my phone number to a client years ago because they couldn't help them.. That person and the client were blocked on my phone from that day forward.
Everyone else have other ways to get in contact with me and even a text can be acceptable but do NOT expect me to pick the phone up at any given time of day/night/whatever. Also, do NOT expect a response or a "read" from your text immediately or even on the same day depending on what I am doing.
People are too used to having instant contact with anyone at any time. I refuse to allow that in my case.
That's pretty much exactly my situation. These are people that know I won't pick up ever, won't answer any voice mails should they leave them on one of the numbers that still has it, and won't bother replying to text when I'm driving because fuck you it's my personal time with my 5 speed and me.
I may just drop an incoming number altogether and go with T-Mobile's plan for the deaf.
Hah, ive never thought about that but its an amusing idea. I have voicemail on my primary phone but I never delete the messages so its been "full" for probably 15 years at this point o.0
I tell people that I do want to be able to contact me, if I don't pick up and its extremely important then text me immediately and tell me. Now, if you abuse that.. You end up on the "cry wolf" list..
Yes. I have multiple channels for people to get hold of me, but the minute something funny happens they forget all of those.
And there were several blocked numbers on this day.
Similar frustrations with people texting me about work shit when I'm off. I tell them, please do not contract me about issues that can wait until business hours. I end up having to be fucking rude about it because apparently that is the only language people can understand.
I don't necessarily mind out-of-hours questions if I can answer them quickly, and we all know not to abuse our co-workers message privileges. But I reserve the right to ignore the phone as does everyone else and we all know that.

I used to feel this way, but over the last year, I don't want anything to do with it. It shifts my brain back into work mode. For whatever reason I'm having a harder time compartmentalizing it. If it is a critical issue that is one thing, but it's mostly dumb shit that can wait or just stumble through on their own.
My work and my hobbies overlap, so it's not that much of a stretch for me. But I can understand why you don't want to answer shit out of hours.
There is a button.
It looks like a little speaker.
If you press it, the voices you hear on the phone, get much louder.
I have several family members I had to teach this too.
It gets real fucking old hearing, "what?", after every fucking sentence.
Now, instead of getting a little louder, everytime I hear "what", I go instantly to concert level speech volume.
Get some fucking hearing aids.
I just blacklisted the offenders. Easier because I don't want to talk on the phone period.
