I've told everyone I know that I don't, won't, can't, shan't and simply will not take voice calls on my mobile. Period. I blacklist everything except for a couple of people that are very important to me. If you're not one of those three people, put your useless message on a camel and send it my way because I don't really care, and not being able to hear that tiny little speaker because my hearing is shot from years of misspent youth don't help.

This morning, some stuff happened and I sent out a message to a few people that I knew would be travelling in, in an effort to save them a lot of miles and gas. They know that I don't take phone calls. So what do they all do? CALL MEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! or they call multiple times and when I ask them did I not tell you I don't take calls they go "Well, I just thought I'd try." They don't even consider the fact that I just said "Things are closed, I don't know why. Going home."

Literally. What part of me telling you that my phone blacklists all calls and it won't even ring, and you won't even get voicemail on my main number DO NOT CALL OR ASK ME TO CALL YOU is so fucking damn fucking fucking hard to understand?

Oh man. For fuck sake. I have had the same number for so long its in every directory on the planet. I tell people that I know and work with that unless I have programmed your number into my phone I will never pick up a call. Even then, I only pick up calls from people I Want to be able to call me.

Some jackass gave my phone number to a client years ago because they couldn't help them.. That person and the client were blocked on my phone from that day forward.

Everyone else have other ways to get in contact with me and even a text can be acceptable but do NOT expect me to pick the phone up at any given time of day/night/whatever. Also, do NOT expect a response or a "read" from your text immediately or even on the same day depending on what I am doing.

People are too used to having instant contact with anyone at any time. I refuse to allow that in my case.

That's pretty much exactly my situation. These are people that know I won't pick up ever, won't answer any voice mails should they leave them on one of the numbers that still has it, and won't bother replying to text when I'm driving because fuck you it's my personal time with my 5 speed and me.

I may just drop an incoming number altogether and go with T-Mobile's plan for the deaf.

Hah, ive never thought about that but its an amusing idea. I have voicemail on my primary phone but I never delete the messages so its been "full" for probably 15 years at this point o.0

I tell people that I do want to be able to contact me, if I don't pick up and its extremely important then text me immediately and tell me. Now, if you abuse that.. You end up on the "cry wolf" list..

Yes. I have multiple channels for people to get hold of me, but the minute something funny happens they forget all of those.

And there were several blocked numbers on this day.
