I STILL occasionally have nightmares about not remembering my locker combination, or it not working, then being late for class.
I used to work a job that had an alarm system for when something went wrong. Every now and then I'll be out somewhere and a fryer or some kitchen appliance will have the same kind of beep and my gut reaction is to jump up and run to the problem.
Shit like that just sticks in your brain and it's near impossible to get out.

on-call 24/7 for YEARS with a pager. If I hear something that sounds like that old-school fucking pager I get a instant rage reaction. It is burned into my mind forever. I have not carried a pager is more than 10 years at this point.
