Depends if the Plane requires aerofoils for extra lift, balance or stability. Although the vimana is similar in appearance to a dirigible/ airship, probably also quite impressive floating in the ocean. I suspect a hydrofoil or closed kayak in a wind tunnel would show satisfactory flying stability too.

The vimana is certainly capable to go under water, it's probably the first flying submarine

Understandable, a big bathtub needs an even bigger bathtub to show it's prowess.
