I remember having a conversation on here a short while ago about improvised weapons. A sock full of rocks, a roll of coins, cheap costume jewelry rings with the stones pried out...

Nothing beats a sturdy leather belt. Make sure it's easy to quickly pull out and your pants are not too loose (even though that could be an intimidation move), wrap the leather end a few times around the knuckle and use it as a whip with bucke on the striking end.
