I was indifferent to him when he announced his first run, I assumed the TV narrative I'd been taught held true. He was rich and white enough to matter, not my kind since we're poor whites from Texas. ("this picante sauce comes from NYC? GET THE ROPE!") Then I heard him speak and heard him say 'not a politician' and 'America first'. Boom, I was on board, if it was a lie then time would tell, but he talked the talk so was eager to see the walk.
