The slippery slope is a falsehood. We don't slide down a slippery slope, we jump from one ledge to the next and that's done via legislation or judiciary edicts. The most common jump/fall is caused by activist judges and as such, some are huge (Roe v Wade, Obamacare), some barely cause a ripple effect (gay marriage).

Who says it's a falsehood? I've heard this before but on who's authority is it a falsehood? Why should I believe them? The jumps you speak of are merely the milestones on the slide downward. You can't get to a lower milestone without slipping lower than the last. There jumps just mark some event that took place at that distance down. Things don't just drop instantly.

I say it is because we aren't slipping and sliding down, it is almost always in lurches, jumps or falls. It is merely an illusion that we are on a slippery slope because if it was a slippery slope, you'd still be able to undo or climb out. At the federal level, what crap laws have been undone and gotten rid of since prohibition was ended?
