Imoho, it's value is the gpio addons. Like sata or NAS hats. This variant opens many possibilities because of cpu and ram. Am assuming excludes many types of hats. But it does open the door for small scale clustered services and dev. Btw, I always enjoy these types of posts. Thanks for that.
