I never understood why everyone liked this guy. I thought he was a fucking douchebag.

Lost my point somewhere in the previous comment. What I wanted to get across was that he had made it by this point after a very long, hard life and was likely willing to say most anything the jews wanted. Does this excuse his lack of integrity? That's a matter of debate. You work the line as long and as hard as he did and then get offered a golden opportunity.

Yeah, but he could fucking cook. And he described the life of the professional cook very accurately and didn't back down from it. Then he got famous and wealthy. But nobody who he left behind could blame him for it. In that industry no one would be that spiteful. And in a lot of ways he never sold out completely. For example you'll never see Bourdain's name on a frozen food dinner or anything similar. Being a douchebag doesn't really matter after all that. TL;DR: The guy made it and got to live a dream job. Then he was murdered for having seen something he shouldn't have. So people in the industry won't shit on him.

Hey bud. It's cool you like him. He could cook. I thought he came across like a tool is all. Edit- good on him for getting his while he could. That's the goal, right?
