Anything got any predictions on the stock market with Biden in place?

I dabble with robinhood app here and there and made maybe a couple hundred in the last year nothing serious. Wondering what everyone's opinions are on the future.

Am thinking about selling all I have to invest later should it tank. Penny for your thoughts?

The stock market is totally disconnected from geopolitics today. He doesn't matter.

  1. Stay away from the Robinhood app. That is not a video game. It's fucking dangerous.
  2. The stock market is rigged and a huge ponzi scheme. Capital markets are flooded with capital. And due to that, it cares not a shit who is in office. Forget that, capital markets don't care about anything. Capital is looking for any place to be laundered.
  3. Don't bother with individual stocks. HFT algos have made buying them useless. You're better off buying index/ETFs.
  4. Stay away from derivatives/ETFs of ETFs.
  5. Managed portfolios cannot generate alpha (value) anymore. You pay huge management fees with negative alpha today.

I’m with you on the ETFs, however I disagree with you on not buying normal stocks. There are quite a few examples that have 5-20x over the last few years (A2 milk, Afterpay, Brainchip etc.)

You just need to be well researched over a few different areas to recognize the value proposition early on, and if the team looks likely to deliver.

Decent topic OP.

It is possible to beat the market with stocks temporarily. HFT also makes it very difficult, they front run all your trades.

Counter example: ARKK, a managed ETF, has been beating the market and its segment.

Sure. For now. But is the alpha high enough to offset the fees? Maybe. Just keep an eye on them. Remember, Janus used to beat the market too.

LOL Look at its history. I've invested in market beating funds for decades.

What do you think about IRAs? Should we still have them or pull them out?

IRAs are simply a tax strategy. If you mean, what should I do with my IRA portfolio, I'd change everything to an unmanaged fund(s). You pay huge management fees otherwise.

If you're asking me if your money is safe in the stock market, I can't answer that because it is up to the whims of our government. I'm keeping a substantial amount of my savings in because it is a ponzi scheme and the criminals running it don't want it to die anymore than I do. We have a similar interest here. Also, the same criminals buy our politicians, so I believe our money is safe for the time being.

Eventually, the stock market will die, I just don't know when.

Sorry I can't be very clear here.

Stock market is fine if you play in it, but it is not a measure of the economy. The market has been flooded with fake printed money for years. The true measure is wages and employment.

oil price is going to skyrocket.

This is what I'm betting on - I'm in transportation and see the patterns and know from experience that transportation companies ebb and flow. I put a bit of money into CVTI early in the year (2020) and it yielded the best results for me so far.

I know first and 2nd quarter aren't usually great.

Fun story I worked for one of the companies under CVTI and at that time ( not that it means shit now) was $3 a share. Back then I wished I had invested as it eventually tripled.

I invested last year under them and came out ok. If what everyone is saying that oil stocks will go up then I don't plan to invest in transportation since fuel costs will play into that.

If gas becomes more expensive it will lead to a fuel company boost, but only temporarily.

I don't see solid state batteries becoming cheap enough in the near future.

If gas gets too expensive it will alter people's car buying habits as well. With cheap gas America sells tons of big ass cars.
