If the universe was created by God, it stands to reason He was created too. Besides, why did He even do it? Because he was 'lonely'? That is a human trait, and he could simply have wished to be 'not lonely'. Instant cure, right?

I disagree. If God exists outside of creation and time, then it certainly is reasonable that He 'always was, is, and always will be'.

No, God created us out of love. God is love. From the catechism, we are created to know, love and serve God. He is our father, and as a father He loves us.
Then why is life so miserable for countless millions? 'I love you, little girl, now die of cancer HAW HAW!'
