If the christian god forbade adam and even from taking from the tree of knowledge then the christian god was really looking for a race of ignorant slaves. The cost to adam and eve is free will in exchange for not having to take responsibility for their lives.

This is so wrong. If Adam and Eve did not have free will, then they would not have had the choice/ability to eat the fruit. If they did not have the choice to eat or not eat, then they would be the ignorant slave that you mention. What you describe is what Islam teaches, that people are ignorant slaves, and Allah is the master.

I accept the critique. Thanks for the perspective.

Well, I thought about deleting the post because I don't see the point in attacking Christians anywhere and especially not here.

But I left it as is and look at the great feedback from people.

All of this says more about Christians than me honestly.

What we do know is that they were ignorant of good and evil prior to taking the fruit and punished for doing evil regardless... huge plot hole.

I am not so sure you can say that. They may not have known evil (i.e. they may not have actually committed sin), but they certainly knew there was at least one thing they could not do (i.e. eat the fruit of one tree). So they at least knew there were allowable actions, and forbidden actions. God specifically told them not to eat of the tree lest they surely die. This certainly shows they knew of the consequences of their actions, and implies an understanding of good and bad.

Also, when Adam was naming the animals, and then he finally got to meet Eve, he stated that at last he had met flesh of his flesh, bone of his bones. So Adam at least knew that bestiality was wrong, and that only Eve was a correct mate for him. This shows that Adam at least had a rudimentary understanding of right and wrong.

I think the tree is of The Knowledge of Good and Evil. Meaning that you know (i.e. have experienced, have acted out) both good and evil. It is through the choice of eating the fruit that they came to know evil, that is, experience evil through their own actions.

When referring to islam you're meaning that god is trying to keep his people as slaves?

The view of Islam is that Allah is the master, and people are his slaves. People do not have free will in Islam, and it is a totalitarian religion (this is why the democrats love Islam so much).
