I did the keto thing for a month it didn't do shit for me and my food bill went through the roof. All the special keto strips and bulletproof coffee is a scam to make your wallet lose weight. Then I went camping and couldn't stay in ketosis out there with the limited food choices, gave it up and never looked back. The USDA doesn't give a shit.

I don't know what or how exactly you ate during that short period of time you tried keto, but it seems like you didn't do it for long enough and perhaps just bought items that said "keto" on them.

I started out doing keto and lost weight pretty easily, then ditched all carbs altogether and just ate steak and lost weight easily.

Keto is not a scam. You just didn't do keto.

Maybe. I lost water weight but trying to stay under 50 grams a day was a huge pain. I bought stuff like cottage cheese but the wrong kind apparently as it had too many carbs and ended up throwing it out. Even a bag of frozen broccoli and leafy greens had enough carbs to make an impact when the max was so low. Plus eating burgers with lettuce for a roll, just whole thing felt like a retarded PITA.

I see. When I started keto, I just did steaks with some vegetables, then I cut out of the vegetables, so I can't really say anything except that I eat fatty meats (beef or pork) exclusively, with salt, and drink water, and that's when I lose weight and feel my best. All the other keto stuff that is on the market now that is trying to capitalize on the keto fad just makes a simple diet really complicated. I don't bother counting carbs because I don't have any to count.
