At least ten years ago my mom's washer went on the fritz. Dad bought it used in like 1990 or so; top loader kenmore. Called a repair guy and was feeling really embarassed by the old junker washing machine, sure the guy was used to the cool expensive stuff.
Dude with cool hair and mustache straight out of the 80's worked on the machine, looked at me and said "this is one of the best washing machines ever made". Talked about the simplicity and how well they worked and durability.
I stopped feeling bad about not having the latest stuff.
