Walked to purchase washer and dryer. First thing I say is I want it delivered and installed.

Should be easy , right ? Nope , after 45 agonizing minutes , multiple calls for manager , etc
finally all set . Nope , I see it says outside delivery. I said , " I wanted that inside delivery installed " First thing I said.

She's explaining why it won't let her do that. I said , thanks for wasting 45 minutes of my time for nothing , and told her to cancel my order.

Buy a used pre-smart one on Craigslist; it'll last longer.

Facts! Bought my washer from a repair guy. He delivered it and hooked it up. Tested it all. $150.

That was 7 years ago. Thing is a beast.

Dryer is newer and fancier but I needed a new one and snagged a deal from an estate sale.

I'm sure future smart (snitch) power meters will be able to detect when you have such devices running (by their power signature), and fine you automatically.

Just add a ‘smartifier’ between the plug and outlet.

That’s a dark thought.

We bought our top loader in 1999. All I've had to do is replace the drain pump and motor coupler. It still washes the clothes just fine.
