Is Broccoli Man-Made?

The short answer is yes, broccoli is man-made. Broccoli as we know it did not always exist as a plant but was created by humans through an extensive process.

It is not known exactly how many years ago broccoli emerged, but it is believed that early varieties of this plant appeared more than 2000 years ago. It was initially grown in Italy and was shipped to America and England in the 1700s and then to the rest of the world.

Sources indicate that broccoli originates from the Mediterranean region and East Asia. The evidence even shows that the first species of this plant were cultivated in the Roman Empire.

The name broccoli originates from the plural of the Italian word “broccolo,” which can translate as “the flowering crest of a cabbage“, and is the diminutive form of “brocco“, signifying “sprout“.

Same goes for all the other produce you buy as well. Grain too. None of them are actually man made. We just directed evolution via genetics.

And bananas corn and fuggin something else

Do you think we came from monkeys?

All of the food you eat has been genetically modified. Not to be confused with bio-engineered.

This is correct. We do not grow the same wheat (example) we found 25k years ago.

We have domesticated most of the common fruits, veggies, and grains. To grow in more areas, more often, and yield larger results. Mostly we did this through trial and error breeding with different varieties of the same species, and selection. Some small portion of it was done just with time, nature, and interaction with us.

You don't have to conflate the ongoing process of evolution with anything else. If you believe in heredity (eg. that your kids look like you), then you believe in evolution. Evolution doesn't prove where we came from, it just lays out the process of sexual selection.

The argument made in the Scopes trials is a good one. Evolution and science do not disprove religion, and Darwin himself thought if anything, evolution was proof of God's existence.

Didn't the Scopes trial use piltdown man as their "evidence".

The same piltdown man that was found to be a complete and utter literal fabrication and fraud?

Yes, it

No, and what does that have to do with anything mentioned above?

Because I like to say fun things.

Niggers cum in monkeys

I think if we came from monkeys then scientists wouldn't be baffled by "the missing link".
