Nuclear plants can produce gasoline, and any other hydrocarbon. All ya need is heat and raw materials.
Is that why they are being shutdown?
No new nuclear plants in a long time. Due to (((environmental))) concerns.
Newer plants are better all around. Just saw a headline china has a new design, needs less (or no) water.
Some of the newer ones are much smaller. I likely one can power a large town or small city, it modular so expansion is easy.
There's one small enough for home use, saw it years ago, don't think it'll be on the market any time soon.
Saw an article years ago about a pencil sized rod that could power cellphones or laptops for a lifetime (or more). But those may never come to the market either. And it's as safe as the glow in the dark materials for radiation levels.
Maybe.
