fyi as someone living in canada, if you are worried about internal pipes freezing up, shut your water supply off and drain your lines from the lowest point you can manage the water, and leave a tap open in the higher part of your house if you have one, or as high as you can go

having water under pressure drop to freezing is the issue, if you have some water left over in your pipes at night, but there is space, as the water touching the pipe starts to crystalize it will float up anyway it can, your pipes may still block up completely but they at least shouldn't burst as the ice has room to expand inside the pipe.

a blowtorch once the sun comes up/temp raises can help free up a part if you can get access to it.

true

it's not like you can't turn it back on though if you need it, so long as after you use it you redrain it

i'm not sure how long it's suppose to be cold down there haven't been listening to news lately, if it's gonna be a short bit it might be worth it

although you do get 1 flush with a toilet once the waters shut off so there's that lol

Yeah my water line is 3/4 of a mile from just the meter. But just a couple days of hard freeze here fucks things up. Its not supposed to get this cold but global warming is a bitch.
