It is pretty sweet being able to do whatever you want with your car.

In europe they already have cars that will shut down if the Onstar Anti-Theft team think the car was stolen, even if it wasn't. I think mostly they ended up just grounding people who were trying to use their car.

Well here inspections are just tire tread, all your lights, brakes (test drive), insurance. Thats about it, just a pain in the ass to have to go get done.

Yep. Truth. Call those padded months a grace period and tag em in January '25.

Yup. And mine are in a county that doesn't do emissions sniffer testing. These little tastes of freedom are nice.

I have never had to do emissions no matter where I lived

When I escaped North Mexico and came to Ohio I was amazed there were no vehicle inspections and all I had to do was surrender the title and get an Ohio one issued. I walked out with a new title and plates in less than 30 mins. They way they keep people fixing their cars here is "equipment violations" on traffic stops. Cops can do inspections on the side of the road but usually you get a ticket for a broken tail light and all you have to do is pay the fine or get it fixed and go to court and tell them you fixed it and the judge dismisses it. Eight months out of the year its Cold AF with Canadian arctic winds pushing Ohio pollution south.

Interesting. Doesn't Texas do all of their licensing at those stations? Out of state customers for Texas were always a pain in the ass because of how they title vehicles there

didnt have a problem moving back here, but nope you renew at courthouse.

No, its a two step deal. You have to go get your car inspected by a mechanic, and then go down to the tax office to get registered with your proof of inspection.
