The entire Idea of an EV is Impossible to sustain. Have you ever used a battery powered tool? i have for years, and the battery Very quickly Fails to take a charge and must be rebuilt or discarded. The cost for a battery has more than doubled (about $90) and the EV battery is about $33,000. Do the math.
That's the whole point. Battery powered vehicles aren't useful in the same way a liquid fuel powered vehicle is.
I forgot where i read it but i remember seeing that the battery makers told them out loud, there is NOT enough material On Earth, to produce enough batteries for EVs to be sustainable, so they ALL know 'EV' is a lie.
It will be a nearly obtainable goal right up until the lithium becomes so hard to get it's cost prohibitive. Then it will be 'Oh, so sorry goy, guess you'll just need to not own a vehicle!"
