Re: https://poal.co/s/TheRedPill/132007 (cold showers)

Intense, heavy music stimulates fight-or-flight response adrenaline release, just like cold showers. Turn it up super loud so it hurts your ears - more pain, more gain. It's probably even better if you actually hate it so it makes you suffer more - you need to suffer to grow.

Body-builders listen to it during workouts.

I couldn't find any studies that have definitively measured this, but this article references one that shows that faggot music can have the opposite effect:

and here's a guy ranting about it who seems pretty convinced:

pure core or pure deathcore is what I listen to myself... don't know if it increases testosterone though.

Figure pure core or pure deathcore is what he means though.

Kind of starter out lighter then went to heavier stuff.

Good stuff.

For something more upbeat but still pretty intense I recommend Dragonforce.

For christians who want to avoid Satanic lyrical themes and get jacked for Jesus there are plenty of christian metalcore bands.

At least a positive message to me. - 7 deadly sins. Greed / Pride / Lust - ego / lust / desire and/or etc.

This one is a positive message at least if not Christian / Catholic due to The 7 Deadly Sins type stuff alone.

Plus this song I've liked for a long time.

Thanks for adding the Christian stuff to as well. Definitely great to keep it in the realm of Jesus Christ to as well.

I like the 1st and 3rd song from your high-intensity picks.

that dragonforce song has always been kind of clean overall metal, but not that heavy or intense. It's something I could listen to in the car driving somewhere or something like that.

2nd in the high-intensity picks reminds me of as I lay dying - confined. - this was the start of metal for me when it came to high intensity type metal.

I do listen to other stuff to as well though. I like high intensity metal - rock in certain ways. Thanks for posting.

AILD was my first fav band back when I started getting into it too.

When I say intense, I'm generally referring to tempo, so I would describe Dragonforce as high-intensity but not very heavy. Ashes of the Dawn wasn't a very good example, here's a better one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c314lwoZqD0

I agree powermetal is probably not as good for adrenaline/testosterone stimulation, but better than nothing. Metalcore, deathcore, pure core, come to think of it anything with 'core' in it is probably best for this, but really any music that evokes feelings of righteous wrath, that makes you want to charge into battle and slay demons by the thousands, should have the desired effect to a degree.

Speaking of slaying demons,

Thanks for the mention, but I usually workout without any music playing at all. If I do play any music it's rarely anything contemporary. Usually symphonies or symphonic scores.
