A long time ago, i had made a post at another place about a man i knew in the navy. when he arrived to the ship he ended up getting a girl he was acquainted with on another ship pregnant. Executive summary: She got pregnant because she thought that would get her off the ship and out of the navy. It did not. When she found out she would still have to fulfill her obligation, and that they were going to give the farther shore duty, she became enraged, and drank herself into a miscarriage and used the miscarriage as an excuse to be given a medical discharge.
I have kept up with the man who would have been a father over the years. Eventually he would become sterile due to cancer treatments. So that was his only chance at being a farther, and that ship has sailed.
Now, he always had trouble with relationships, and i suspect it's because he did not really vet the women he hung around with. Do not go to bars to pick up women, that should be a no brainer yet people do that. Really the only purpose a bar serves is to part fools from their money with overpriced drinks.
This goes both ways. We are starting to see the wine aunts commit suicide, because baby rabies is very real. /pol/ has the bumble threads from time to time of the post wall women wanting kids, but that ship has sailed for them. There are serious consequences to this. Right now there is a labor shortage because the boomers are retiring, but they did not have replacements lined up. There will not be as many replacements and contrary to what the "elites" think you can not fill technical jobs with someone off the boat. We will begin seeing the repercussions of people ignoring their biological clocks.
that's the tragedy here. We upturned thousands of years of human culture because corporate America wanted to double the workforce, and Washington wanted more people paying into social security. the end result is now a labor and tax payer shortage. it took a generation but we are here now.

The traditions of our forefathers were not conceived for stupid reasons, but were the results of thousands of years of observation. We are now relearning this lesson the hard way.
