They just changed the preservative without doing a study. You’re right I googled, it’s retarded. No real trials though. There’s not even safety studies and they just going to do rushed immunogenicity studies.
The scariest part:
“At some point, inevitably, we’re going to have to make variant vaccines — if vaccines are the way population immunity will be maintained — but we’re not at the point where we can confidently predict the evolution of the virus,” says Paul Bieniasz, a virologist at the Rockefeller University in New York City. “Practising with existing variants seems like a reasonable approach.”
Because you destroyed their immune system?
I still can’t believe people are taking their first doses and boosters for last years virus. It’s the stupidest thing I’ve seen. As you said it’s a matter of days to get a delta vax going. They could even have the sequence for all the possible “deadly” variants and have them ready to go in a few days.
“If we’re not going to do randomized controlled trials for efficacy, one alternative would be to do immunogenicity studies, plus really robust, well-designed real-world effectiveness studies,” says Matthew Hepburn, who until August was the director of COVID-19 vaccine development at the US government’s Countermeasures Acceleration Group (formerly Operation Warp Speed) and is now a special adviser at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
should the need arise for a new COVID-19 vaccine, his company could get one ready within 100 days.
an escape variant emerges, RNA vaccine makers such as Pfizer and Moderna could probably design and synthesize an initial prototype jab against it in a few days. Viral-vector vaccines, such as AstraZeneca’s, could follow closely behind…But before these shots can be deployed, they will have to be tested in humans, and that will take time. So pharma companies are doing dry runs.
There’s no reason for any of this it all needs to be shut down.
They can create a new mRNA vaccine in days (viral vector needs a few days more), and while they need the consent of the FDA, the FDA doesn't insist on randomized controlled trials for efficacy anymore - retrospective "real-world effectiveness studies" would be sufficient.
They could create, test, approve, and roll out an anti-delta booster in 100 days. They don't do it because stopping delta would end the "pandemic". If it is true that vaccinated people always react with the same set of antibodies (even if they get really sick and should get natural immunity) - an effect called "original sin" - then they can get reinfected and the delta variant will become a seasonal virus. Endless medical emergency and monthly booster shots.
