What federal charges can they bring against him though? They wont be able to retry him for whatever he was tried for in the first trial. It will have to be a different charge which most likely will be substantially less serious. And im not sure how jurisdiction works over murder trials. Im pretty sure the feds have no standing there so it would have to be like some terrorism charge or something that falls within their powers thats why they had to invent RICO.
