I'm trying to not pay too much attention to this one but it is obviously scandalous. I've stayed in that town before specifically at 1565 Kuuipo St, Lahaina, HI 96761 which I'm almost curious enough to figure out if it is still standing. At the time there was a fire somewhere between Lahaina and Maalaea which had the road shut down and just about left me stranded to miss a flight which I wasn't too upset about. I sat on 30 for an hour or so while it was blocked off watching helicopters with buckets picking up water from the ocean and dumping it on the flaming hillside. They are accustomed to fires in that area, they know how to deal with fires in that area. Perhaps there is an argument to be made that winds were too high or what have you but a lot of things went wrong when dealing with a normal problem for that area here.
