Realistically, you can't feel anything much below a 4.5 anyway. CA gets a 3-3.5 literally every day, no one notices those. A 5 will rattle the house good, but won't cause serious damage to a building built for it. East coast has a lot of brick buildings, I could see that being an issue for sure.

Can confirm. I can remember a whole bunch of times when people would comment about an earthquake and saying, "what earthquake?"
