Airplanes make sense as well, but just because of the potential of rapid decompression causing pilots to blackout and crash because of a lack of O2. To be fair, I haven't looked into if a bullet or 12 can cause this. It just seems like a problem that could occur before a good guy with a gun could stop anything.
It should be easier to check luggage with a weapon though.
