It's nauseating to see how they lick up blatant propaganda

Without even knowing much about it you can pick the best side simply by choosing the opposite side as the media/ political elite/ George Soros etc.

[–] 4 pts

Georges soros getting behind anything is huge turn off indeed

[–] 5 pts

What's more nauseating is they lick it up after they have been shown the media is blatantly lying

[–] 2 pts

I agree. So much obvious blatant propaganda but the masses are so programed to get immediately emotional they're easily manipulated.

[–] 3 pts

It is at the point now where the media can say literally anything at all even if it is blatantly demonstrably false. And the people will eat it up and if you point out that it is false and literally show them irrefutable proof they will argue the media's side against reality

[–] 2 pts

Yeah I'm being jumped on for even suggesting it's lies. Fuck em, sooner or later they'll figure it out.

similar human behaviour on every subject. those who know the most often speak the least, and those who don't know shit never shut up.

All I know is everyone I hate is very pro-ukraine. So I feel a need to root for Russia by default.

That being said; I don't really care at all.

Lack of self awareness is not a contemporary phenomena.

"Man... knows only when he is satisfied and when he suffers, and only his sufferings and his satisfactions instruct him concerning himself, teach him what to seek and what to avoid. For the rest, man is a confused creature; he knows not whence he comes or whither he goes, he knows little of the world, and above all, he knows little of himself." Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

“We will gradually become indifferent to what goes on in the minds of other people when we acquire a knowledge of the superficial nature of their thoughts, the narrowness of their views and of the number of their errors. Whoever attaches a lot of value to the opinions of others pays them too much honor.” Arthur Schopenhauer

Carlo Maria Cipolla, an economic historian, is famous for his essays about human stupidity. He viewed stupid people as a group, more powerful by far than major organizations such as the Mafia and the industrial complex, which without regulations, leaders or manifesto nonetheless manages to operate to great effect and with incredible coordination. Cipolla's five fundamental laws of stupidity: 1 Always and inevitably each of us underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation. 2 The probability that a given person is stupid is independent of any other characteristic possessed by that person. 3 A person is stupid if they cause damage to another person or group of people without experiencing personal gain, or even worse causing damage to themselves in the process. 4 Non-stupid people always underestimate the harmful potential of stupid people; they constantly forget that at any time anywhere, and in any circumstance, dealing with or associating themselves with stupid individuals invariably constitutes a costly error. 5 A stupid person is the most dangerous type of person there is.

If you get your opinion from the news and Stephen Colbert says it in a way that makes you laugh, it is an acceptable opinion.

But seriously, for me, knowing the entire US propaganda apparatus is full bore Ukraine and celebrities are all on the bandwagon, along with the fact that Russia doesn't condone porn or homo degeneracy, I'm with Russia.

They are mostly being paid to give an opinion

And the people who pay them, want all normies to have the same group-think opinion, because that makes elections a whole lot simpler.

The worst ones are those who aren't even being paid, like actresses and B celebs, they just want to be liked for agreeing with the group-think

Because the media makes people feel like they do.

The only reason I care is the same reason I cared about the Covid topic. Because people with power will decide to do stupid things that I actually care about. Like right now there is a debate whether to stop buying all Russian oil. If that happens and we don't have a backup, then gas prices could go up a lot.

[–] 0 pt

They are already going up

[–] 1 pt

Yep, and that's with everyone still buying Russian oil. If everyone in the West stopped buying Russian crude tomorrow, it's hard to predict how high prices would go on the global market. There would likely be shortages and high prices for a while, until someone that we are "allowed" to buy oil from increases their oil production.

Seems that people think their opinions matter but like assholes everyone has one.

People hate saying they don’t know. Everyone HAS to be an expert in everything I hate it. Everyone just pretends they know everything about everything. Nothing wrong with saying “I don’t know” or “I don’t have enough information” they do it with all subjects.
