Have to assume that they deployed the countermeasure flares because they were being tracked. I doubt they'd be using these while flying over hostile territory for no reason.

I always thought, it has to be a freaky feeling as a pilot when you hear that "You're being locked on by a weapon" alarm going off. As an infantryman, you don't know you're being aimed at until you hear the bullet crack passed you (or hit you). But these guys know they're being targeted with some huge missile, that if it lands, will probably destroy their plane mid-air. If they're lucky, they might have time to eject and parachute down... right into the loving hands of the Ukrainians, where they will be tortured to death.

Here's a video from Desert Storm, where an F-16 pilot is targeted and fired at by SIX FUCKING SURFACE-TO-AIR MISSILES. I forget what they're called, but they're huge, like telephone poles, launched from trucks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUjX1RntqVw

Imagine the kind of weapons the Russian pilots will have to contend with.

Such pity sandniggers Rome (which I'd call Baghdad) was ordered to be destroyed by your masters. The tech is still impressive though and I wish the video would have been about a pilot who refused to bombard them back to stoneage.

My 2 cents.

Manpads like stingers are near useless in a situation like this. No lines of sight needed to give enough time to lock on.

And all the serious air defences. The s400. Have already been destroyed.

Also. Gen4. 5 jets can't survive vs heavy defense missiles. Russian Air defences wiped the floor with Ukraines air force.

The question is. How well will Gen 5 jets fair vs s500 and s550?

Americans need to understand that their armed forces have fallen behind in the arms race.

Javelinsand stingers did not perform well
