You can do whatever you choose. My faith may waiver but I generally consider "free will" to be a god given right. Some people need killing and most religions make exceptions for times of war if you read the fine print.
It doesn't matter if I think it's okay if it's okay to you and some decisions come with consequences. Such is life.
Let's get to the real issue. You're portraying your diet as a form of heroism. Maybe in your mind you are. Me personally... don't care.
