Im thinking the emf from the airbuds are constant. As in they emmitt radiosignals even when charging. And isnt this one of the reasons some say they are harmful?

I'm sure it's one of the reasons, but what makes radio signals dangerous is the power at which they're being transmitted. Airbuds don't produce the power necessary to cause damage, even over time, and I imagine most of the time they're receiving and not transmitting anyway.
If anything, getting the phone itself away from your head is a good thing. They can definitely cause damage if used too much. I think it's rare, but it's proven.
