If that was me, that would be a dead cat. Admittedly I didn't realize they were deterred by gunfire. Nor do I know if that's universally true.
Thing about gunfire is it attracts predators that are familiar with hunters. You shoot a gun in the wrong place you will have Bears and wolves and coyotes coming from miles to where you blasted. Brown Bears expect good when they arrive which is not a good setting for an introduction.

Avoiding needing them is better if you’ve ever had a Bear encounter.
I know bears can be pissed off by gun shots and enraged when hit. They do not universally deter animals. Especially if they are sick or defending young.
My father killed a black bear. Six shots, five to the head. It charged the whole way.
The guy in the video should have fired a warning shot the second he drew. If that didn't deter and it continued to close, you kill it.
People have zero idea how dangerous black bears actually are. I lived in an area where bears would be prowling all around your house looking for food. And they are huge and you're not and if you are unlucky enough, they will tear you apart.
