Cut the cat off mine years ago. Some sensor back there throws a code permanently. I can reset it with my obdii and go 50 miles before it comes back on but I don’t care. I just scan codes every month just to see if any other codes come up.

Yeah, that's probably an O2/Temp sensor. Modern cars gots lots of them in the waste stream. If it's just a simple resistance/voltage report, you could probably fake it.

Yup. You’re right. I believe sometimes you can get away with not affecting it but my layout didn’t allow. I appreciate the engineers not letting that sensor flash the CEL and limp mode the vehicle.

I wonder if the new new vehicles react the same way. My theory is global warming czars with the epa may have forced those sensors to have to read clean car farts or SHUT IT DOWN!

Where I live they won't let you drive your car if the O2 sensor goes off. Cars have be tested for "air quality"

Ohio tried that in some spots, but no one cared. Cleveland still does it.
