Food processing factories have massive electromagnets before the packaging sections just to catch stuff like this. I can understand not bothering with charcoal plants, but if customers send in complaints with the metal they find, they might just start adding them for quality control. Most metal is probably harmless in a grill, but you never know, and it shouldn't be getting in there.
