In many cases you don't actually have to fight, it's about having the ability and willingness to fight that would make a real fight very expensive. And then the fight doesn't happen at all. Also no soldier wants to be the first one to run at an armed mob, if no one will go first, no one will go. But everyone will be far more likely to be a defender.
Every American should own a gun, any white person especially should be making a point to get all their friends familiar with guns and convince them to buy one for any reason at all. For fun, target practice, hunting, doesn't matter. Keep the year long arms race going in the US.
Si vis pacem para bellum.
Gandhi, the supposed paragon of peace and love, preached exactly this. He didn't say just lie down and wait for the government to give up. He said be prepared for a fight. But surprisingly that part of his teaching gets left out. I wonder why.
