I was monitoring Camp Bundy ham radio comms during the standoff. My impression was that the snipers were not team-Bundy and a surprise to both sides, but had Bundy's six and prevented fed escalation as the contractors believed they'd only be up against some ranchers w walmart rifles

I don't think that stopping by force or threat of force the government from denying somebody else's rights is a recognized justification for behaviors in question. Maybe we could get that passed as a law. Call your congresman lol.

In many cases you don't actually have to fight, it's about having the ability and willingness to fight that would make a real fight very expensive. And then the fight doesn't happen at all. Also no soldier wants to be the first one to run at an armed mob, if no one will go first, no one will go. But everyone will be far more likely to be a defender.
