I agree Poal without retards would be ideal but I also don't believe that is possible without some sort of quashing of free speech. I've seen too many sites turn to that, so here we are!
Yeah but it's that principle where the bigger the site the lower the quality. It could get so bad here that it's not worth being on

I unfortunately don't have any ideas on how to fix it. I certainly don't want an echo chamber of just a few of us agreeing with each other. I also want newfags to come, discuss, and maybe learn something new that is being hidden from them.
I'd be interested in hearing any ideas you have to a solution.

I try to, but then I see the 5th flat earth claim if the day and at some point it gets old. But I think there's value in collectively dismissing stupid shit instead of letting it collect and build
The goal is to get the critical mass all to go in the right direction (rationality). As long as that works, then the newfags can learn and we just deal with stupid shit as it comes
If we fail to have critical mass go the right way, this site degenerates into reddit. Then it won't matter that we have freedom cuz the value will be drowned out by shit
