This. I bought an electric push mower and weed eater recently. I don't care what anybody says, I used to make fun of them too, but they're pretty fuckin sweet. Just pop in the battery and go. Cut all the grass on one charge and pop the battery back in the charger for next week. I don't have to deal with yanking the damn cord over and over trying to figure out why it won't start. No filters, no oil, no mechanical issues to deal with whatsoever. And they're super quiet. Honestly makes me really want electric vehicles too.
I picked up an electric push mower on clearance this past winter and im fucking impressed with it. I thought it was going to be junk honestly, but its solid.
When I was a kid, for whatever reason, I was "The lawn mower kid". None of my other siblings ever had to mow the lawn. It was always fucking me who had to do it. Twice a week. And it wasn't just my parent's house. I had to mow my grandparent's yard too.
So, yeah, I have a LOT of experience with 2 stoke engines. Fixing the damn mower is part of the job. Then you have oil/fuel mixtures. A tank of gas only covers 1/2 a lawn, so you are constantly filling it up with gas. Cleaning out the carburetor.
Then you have to trim everything with the weed eater.
Fuck that shit!
Now I have an electric setup. There's pretty much no maintenance.
I'm with you bro. It's night and day.
