They have completely changed what it means to be vaccinated. Now being vaccinated means you can still get the virus but you get it from unvaccinated people. Had my parents attempt to shame me, comparing the polio vaccine etc. Trust doctors. They're old so I can maybe forgive them. Two good friends did the same the same week. They labeled it their 'civic duty' which almost made me puke.

At work the guys were talking about it at the shop. The senior sparky says "and for god's sake get your damn shot!" referring to the 'surge in cases' in the area. Everyone in the shop sort of nodded in silent acquiescence .. shit is getting creepy, creeping in from all sides. The people are traumatized and following the 'oooommmm' coming from the loud speaker in their pocket.

I think it's the area you live in. Nobody in my shop is vaccinated, we're vocally against it... the owners said they won't personally require proof of vaccination (they would lose 2/3 of their employees) the people in my town don't wear masks and dont really freak out about covid. I have very few conversations about it with my friends, family, or neighbors. We all do the same thing we were doing before all this mess. It feels like bizarro world when I turn on the YouTube and covid is big life-or-death drama brawls. I literally never see that irl.

They will push all the emotional buttons you can think of. Pleasure, shame, conformity, appeal to authority, social norm, peer pressure, threat, disgust, disdain, pity, etc. But what you need to keep focus on is the data.

99.99% survivability even when contracting the virus. And 92% of those who did die had co-morbidities. At this point, the vaccine is not only unnecessary, but it's more of a liability if you do the cost benefit analysis. They know this, so they're trying to offset your cost benefit analysis by piling on the negatives for being unvaccinated to make the benefit of taking the vaccine more appealing.
