Almost all of silicon valley software... all lines of famous famous code... written by "toxic white males"
That "everyone's opinion matters" shit shifts all of the focus on projects to shit that doesn't matter. The parts of the project that people can easily see and understand, like what colors are used.
I miss the kind of teams I was with in the 90s, when the industry still pulled people in that were interested and passionate. Everyone in the office at that time had home projects, wanted to learn more, and they worked together without some kind of bullshit team management framework.
QA and spec meetings had turned into courtroom trials when I left the industry some years ago. You brought in all the company development guidelines, procedures, and standards. Then you defended yourself the best you could, building off of conflicting requirements coming in from all over the company.
Can't imagine what it's like now. When I left, companies still had floors with real engineers, along with "show floors" where they put all the diversity hires. Those were engineers the visitors and other departments saw, the real work was still done downstairs.
It's that way in any big industry.
