Amazon must have a fetish for ruining good fantasy content. They did it with LOTRs and WoT too? Fuck them. I watched half of the first episode of WoT and it was shit. I could tell it was going to be shit within the first 5 minutes. The author is very descriptive of how he describes the women's clothing. Moiraine, like most women in the novels, is wearing dresses. Yet in the series she is wearing pants. Like wtf... I can already tell this is going to be trash.

It's annoying because a good adaptation of these novels would be awesome and could run for many many seasons given the length of the series, but no, they had to fucking ruin it.

Spoilers are spoiled, but read at your own risk.

Eh, the women get way too fucking uppity real quick and act like the men are all retarded and need to be treated like children, while the Men are trying to keep themselves afloat because holy fuck does the world have it out for them. The women characters treat the men like they have it easy and are goofing off despite the fact that one's trying to keep his sanity while dodging the women who would kill/enslave/lobotomize him, the other has to gather and lead an army with all the logistics and stress thereof.

Meanwhile, the women characters from the initial village are elevated to high positions of power really quickly, get tons of support and are very quick learners for their magic, they do things they're told specifically not to do with the magics of the setting and get rewarded for it almost instantly (compared to the men, who have to fight tooth and nail for damn near any progress in any skill and they usually nearly die in the process) all while complaining how hard they have it and how stupid the men all are and that it would all just be okay if the men obeyed the women. In fact, almost every major woman character up to the point I stopped besides Min the seeress blames men for every ill they face..

Like I said, it just got to the point where I gave up. I couldn't handle it anymore. It just kept building and building and finally I just put the book down and never picked it back up. Doesn't help that I remember reading somewhere that Robert Jordan thought that this is exactly how male/female dynamics should go, with the woman being dominant, controlling harridans and men subservient to them.
