How sad is this - I just assume the Biden admin is going to do something stupid to us, and has paid off reuters to report "russian" scientists are saying this so when they knock out something or other, or fail to do so, they can either blame Russia or the sun.

The effects of the flare have passed by now; we might hear news about that. There is a good chance the coronal mass ejection will affect us in the coming days.
