Rolexes are alright and all, but they're really not the watch of the Aristocracy---even if you have their Day/Date in Platinum which is probably like $70K itself. I mean, a lot of successful plumbers and UPS drivers own Rolexes. Rolex basically says that you're one of the larger, more self-sufficient animals at the front of the herd. No, aside from a Patek Philippe, nothing quite says "Not only am I tasteful, but I have the money to buy and sell your country's prosecutors and politicians and am fully able to genocide a small country if I so desired", than owning a nice Lange. An uppity peasant like me could only dream of owning one of those, so I will likely settle for something that is roughly about 85% as good, only $10K and also German-engineered and similar in appearance: The Glasshutte:

This one is damn sharp. Move over cheap Bulova Marine Star, you've been demoted to penultimate, we now have a new #1.

Can't say I've ever once really looked at another man's watch, or even noticed what brand they're wearing. I also tend to be oblivious to obvious social cues until someone points it out to me (oooohhhh.... well shit...), maybe it's part the same thing going on in my head. Unless of course it was one of the pics you posted.
