Rolexes are alright and all, but they're really not the watch of the Aristocracy---even if you have their Day/Date in Platinum which is probably like $70K itself. I mean, a lot of successful plumbers and UPS drivers own Rolexes. Rolex basically says that you're one of the larger, more self-sufficient animals at the front of the herd. No, aside from a Patek Philippe, nothing quite says "Not only am I tasteful, but I have the money to buy and sell your country's prosecutors and politicians and am fully able to genocide a small country if I so desired", than owning a nice Lange. An uppity peasant like me could only dream of owning one of those, so I will likely settle for something that is roughly about 85% as good, only $10K and also German-engineered and similar in appearance: The Glasshutte:

When you don't spend money on drugs, booze, bitches, child support, court restitution, student loans, rent or car maintenance, you can afford a hobby or two. Right now, I'm wearing a $15K watch, and, while my job pays much better than minimum wage, ti is still not a "good" or "career" job. I avoided traps all of my life and now I am slowly enjoying the second half.
