Rolexes are alright and all, but they're really not the watch of the Aristocracy---even if you have their Day/Date in Platinum which is probably like $70K itself. I mean, a lot of successful plumbers and UPS drivers own Rolexes. Rolex basically says that you're one of the larger, more self-sufficient animals at the front of the herd. No, aside from a Patek Philippe, nothing quite says "Not only am I tasteful, but I have the money to buy and sell your country's prosecutors and politicians and am fully able to genocide a small country if I so desired", than owning a nice Lange. An uppity peasant like me could only dream of owning one of those, so I will likely settle for something that is roughly about 85% as good, only $10K and also German-engineered and similar in appearance: The Glasshutte:

I'm really surprised it costs that much, but I guess everything is more expensive in NYC, right?

$20K is nothing, though. That’s not even a car. I feel like $50K is more for a mid-sized city like Tampa, Tulsa, Minneapolis or Indianapolis. I think a huge city like NYC would command at least $200K on bribes for major policy change. The last Mayor was able to steal at least $850MILLION

Hmm. Maybe that's why my politicians aren't performing to spec. I need to put a little more cash in the game.
