I've never understood the entire premise of an expensive watch.
My cheap ass 50$ timex has done everything I have ever needed a watch to do.

I have several beaters, as well. I wear my Rolies 90% of the time, but I’ll throw on a beater here and there to break things up and add a little variety. The way you can tell I like watches is that I actually wear them and scratch them up. A lot of these guys are buying Rolex and Jewing them away as an investment or just because they’re autists who are terrified of dinging them.
