Can you not imagine a sliding switch that breaks the electrical contact from camera and mic to the OS?

I can imagine it, but when you slide the switch to the on position, it's no longer air gapped.

You CAN have a camera that is air gapped, even while it is on, so the idea is deceiving.

The idea being, you turn it on only when you want to use it, then back off again so the NSA can't watch you jerk off to tranny porn.

I get the idea, but KimDotCom is not going to provide privacy for you.

I also find it tremendously obvious that you don't actually need your phone to have a camera, at all.

There are plenty of small cameras available that do not require Internet access or access to your data.

What you want is to hide from the ID algorithms. The best way to do that, which Kimdotcom will never give you, is a:

  1. Pawn Shop device with someone else's history. Samsung is best.

  2. Where you physically disable the camera, the Bluetooth antennae (all phones are bluejacked via Blueborne variants), the ANT antennae (biometrics measuring), and the GPS antennae (there's six).

  3. Have a faraday flip case for the phone.

This is where to start. A fresh phone will ID you very quickly. A used phone won't even bother to try and identify you. It will assume you are the original owner.
